Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Shelter for the homeless

Type of Community or Social Service: Services for the homeless

Specific Skills: Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services, Conduct follow-up assessments, Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning

Other Information: Personal experience with homelessness issues an asset. Knowledge of aboriginal culture & ability to speak an aboriginal language an asset. Non-violent crisis intervention training an asset.
