Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $15.00 to $35.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Notes: bonus, and other benefits.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training, completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, 4th Period Apprentice, Automotive Service Licence (310S), Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T).

Major Work Area: Repair, Overhaul, Maintenance, Service, Recondition

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy construction equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Vehicle brake systems, Differentials

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance

Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Welding experience

Security and Safety: Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Work Location Information: In shop

Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making, Critical thinking, Finding information, Continuous learning

Other Information: Applicants must be mechanically inclined & dependable. Able to work well with others. Some basic tools are required.
