Terms: This is a casual, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training, completed university.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work.

Work Setting: Hospital, Home care and visiting care agency, Nursing or convalescent home

Area of Specialization: General duty, Consulting, Public and community health, Surgical unit

Specific Skills: Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care, Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions, Provide health education, Provide nursing care, Manage home care cases, Deliver immunization programs, Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff

Additional Skills: General counselling

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Continuous learning
