Terms: This is a permanent, full time job Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer

Type of Travel: Long-haul, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Trip recorder (on-board computer), Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Specific Skills: Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods

Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available

Work Location Information: Various locations
