Experience: is an asset. Credentials required: The applicant should have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement. Major Work Area: Maintenance, Service, Repair, Overhaul Area of Specialization: Installing machinery and equipment, Adjusting machinery and equipment, Fabricating machine parts, Start-up and testing, Shutdown operations, Troubleshooting Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing, Steel industry Type of Machinery or Equipment: Conveyors, Pumps and compressors, Hoists and other lifting devices, Grinders, Welding equipment, Lathes and other machining tools, Fans and blowers, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW) Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Install machinery and mechanical equipment, Repair or replace defective machinery parts, Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Assemble machinery prior to installation, Operate machining tools to fabricate parts Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications Own Tools/Equipment: Tools Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Continuous learning Profile: for Griffin Canada Griffin Canada is the North American Leader in the manufacture of high quality freight and diesel engine wheels to the railroad industry.
