Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $13.90 to $19.50 per hour for a 33 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.

School Grades of Children: Elementary school and middle school, High school

Work Periods: Regularly or daily

Work Experience with Special Needs Students: Emotionally disturbed, Assistance with communication

Specific Skills: Carry out or assist with behaviour modification and other therapeutic programs, Assist with lessons, Accompany and supervise students during school activities and outings, Monitor and report to classroom teacher on student progress, Assist in preparation of learning materials and environment, Prepare classroom displays and bulletin boards

Additional Skills: Know and use computer hardware and software, Monitor students during recess and lunch hour

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse, Driving record check (abstract)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail

Ability to Supervise: 1 to 2 people

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is available
