Terms: This is a seasonal, full time job, which requires working days and evenings.

Salary: will be $16.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some high school, completed high school.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Dump

Type of Travel: Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence
