Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and evenings. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Dump

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local

Documentation Knowledge: Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance, Perform emergency roadside repairs

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
