Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Machinist Trade Certification.

Work Setting: Custom machine shop

Type of Machine Experience: Conventional, Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

Type of General Machine Tools: Sawing machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Milling machines, Cylinder grinders, Surface grinders, Universal grinders, Tool grinders

Type of Repetitive Machining Operation Experience: Turning, Milling, Drilling, Grinding

Specific Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations, Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers), Prepare etching solution and immerse metal parts or workpiece into the etching solution to remove unwanted portions, Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence
