Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days. Some overtime will be available.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification, Driver’s License, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, WHMIS.

Workers Supervised: Heavy equipment operators, except crane, Trades helpers, Labourers

Major Work Area: Equipment operation, Excavation, Grading

Type of Industry Experience: Construction, Pipeline construction, Public Works Department, Independently owned business

Specific Skills: Supervise workers and projects, Coordinate and schedule activities, Train or arrange for training, Recommend staffing actions, Ensure adherence to safety standards, Manage own company

Additional Skills: Prepare production and other reports, Oversee apprenticeship training, Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions, Estimate material and labour costs, Prepare bids

Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Enhanced reliability security clearance, Criminal record check, Eligible for professional liability insurance

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure
