Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $10.30 per hour for a 14 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: is an asset.

Type of Work: Provide assistance to special needs children

Work Setting: Child care centre

Experience With Children Who Have Special Needs: Children with behavioural issues

Early Childhood Education Skills: Knowledge of licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills: Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children, Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

Additional Skills: Assist in housekeeping duties, Leadership skills

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Public transportation is available

Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Continuous learning

Other Information: Position is located at the South YMCA-YWCA Childcare Centre.
